The Playground Dive Shop goes to Beaver Lake Eureka Springs, 2 times a month for completion of the PADI Open Water Certification. Once you have mastered all the skills in the pool, next step is a fun filled weekend where you get to apply your knowledge and mastery in an open water environment.  You get to make 4 exciting Open Water Dives over the course of 2 days.

STEP 1:  Choose & Sign-up for Lake Session

We offer 2 classes every month starting in May running the entire summer until October.  Lake spots fill up quickly so if you know your schedule, you can reserve your spot with a $50 deposit.  Balance of lake is due 2 weeks before your check-out dives.

STEP 3: Pick-up Rental Gear

The Playground Dive Shop provides the following equipment for your lake session: BC, Regulator, Dive Computer, Wetsuit, 2 Tanks, Weights.  You are responsible for transporting to and from the lake.  You may pick it up from Thurs or Friday before your scheduled lake session.  We do require a credit card to hold for a deposit for rental equipment.

***Please note Beaver Lake is an Army Corp Lake and diving takes place in a "Day Use" area so you must purchase a daily or annual pass.  It is an un-manned toll booth so exact change is needed.

We provide a packing list for suggested items to bring.

Step 4: Meet Staff at Beaver Lake

During your course, your instructor will notify you as to what time you will need to start on Saturday and Sunday and what location you will be diving. Beaver Lake is one of the biggest dive training locations in the Midwest and has several locations for training.

Step 5: Optional Training

It is often possible to do some additional training at Beaver Lake.  Ask your instructor about a Peak Performance Buoyancy Class, Enriched Air Class, or even Adventure dives.  During training students are only allowed to do 3 training dives in 1 day, however it maybe possible to start your training on Friday afternoon so you can do additional classes.

Remember to ask shop staff or your instructor about our student discount for Open Water Students!
